How We Verify Our Formulas

Every formula used on this site is independently verified with Python before the page is published. This means every number in every worked example — every mortgage payment, every BMI value, every concrete volume calculation — is calculated programmatically and then matched against the published content.

Our verification process:
1. Identify the authoritative formula for each calculator (scientific literature, government standards, industry practice)
2. Implement the formula in Python with no rounding until the final step
3. Run multiple test cases and verify results against known correct values
4. Match all numbers in the page content against the Python output
5. Only publish when every value matches exactly

This process catches the errors that are common on calculator sites: wrong formula variants, off-by-one errors, incorrect unit assumptions, and rounding applied at the wrong step. If a number on this site is wrong, it is because the source formula was wrong — not because someone estimated it.

For health calculators we reference validated scientific formulas: Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR, the US Navy method for body fat, WHO BMI classifications, and Cunningham formula for lean mass-based calorie estimation. For financial calculators we use standard amortization formulas consistent with industry practice. For construction calculators we reference established engineering ratios for dry volume factors and mix proportions.
